Meet our staff...

Nancy Doize began her dance training at the age of four.  She studied Ballet, Tap and Hawaiian dance.  After high school, she began dancing in college and training under the strict eyes of Dimitri and Francesca Romanoff.  Though many of the Mr. Romanoff's dancers went to New York, Nancy chose San Francisco, the former dance company of Mrs. Romanoff.  She spent two years working with Michael Smuin while having the opportunity to take Master Classes with Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Barishnykov and Natalia Makarova.  Finalizing a dream from when she was 16, Nancy returned to San Jose and opened her own dance school in August 1980.  Over the years, she has earned many choreography awards and served as a judge in many Teen California pageants and local dance competitions.  She has an AA degree in Music and a BA degree in Business Administration and is listed in the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals.

With the help and support of her husband, Mike Shuck, the school's official photographer  and technical director, Nancy produces three recitals a year.  The studio has grown from a ballet studio with 27 students to a dance school with over 300 students and ten teachers.  Classes are offered in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, creative dance, zumba, pilates, and contemporary.  Her dancers perform at community activities and compete both locally and nationally.  Many of her students have been inspired by Nancy and have gone on to dance careers.  After 31 years and hundreds of students, Nancy's happiest moments are spent sharing her love of dance with her students and watching their joy as they master dance.
